10 Hour Training Outline

Class instruction includes:

  • Basic firearms
  • Basic marksmanship
  • Concealment
  • Safe storage of firearms
  • Handgun proficiency at range
  • Legal issues
  • Contact with law enforcement
  • Non-violent dispute resolution
  • Use of force
  • Review
  • Written test

The course is in full compliance with GC § 411.188.

10 Hour CHL Training includes at NO additional charge

Classroom:

•DPS student applicant packet   (If you already applied online for your Application Packet bring it to
class with you .Applying on line is not required.)

•Texas CHL Law Book

•Fingerprinting for 2 fingerprint cards - 1 FBI - 1 DPS

•2 passport I.D. Photographs  Wear a dark colored shirt is recommended.

•Notary public (Don't forget your drivers license or Texas I.D. I will need it in order to notarize your
affidavits. )

•Assistance with all required paperwork

Information
RANGE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bring your handgun unloaded in a case, and leave it in your car until range time.
  • EYE protection required (Will supply at no extra charge)
  • EAR protection required (Will supply at no extra charge)
  • Footwear shall be of type that the entire foot is covered.
  • Wear a shirt with a collar to the range (recommended)


HANDGUNS
  • All handguns should be in good repair and have no modifications that will make the handgun less safe.
  • Make sure you are familiar with your handgun.
  • Make sure you zero your handgun as there is no time alloted in class for this.
  • 50 rounds of ammunition required.
  • We offer Handguns for rent. Ammunition included.



Firearm and Ammunition Rental Fees:

Firearms may be rented for use in the Concealed Handgun Licensing course.  

■ 9 mm Semi-auto and 50 rounds - $30.00
■ 40     Semi-auto and 50 rounds -  $30.00
■ 45     Semi-auto and 50 rounds -  $30.00

You must notify us in advance of the class that you will need to rent a firearm.
